The crucified planet Earth,
\nshould it find a voice
\nand a sense of irony,

\nof our abuse of it,
\n“Forgive them, Father,

The irony would be
\nthat we know what
\nwe are doing.<\/p>\n

When the last living thing
\nhas died on account of us,
\nhow poetical it would be
\nif Earth could say,
\nin a voice floating up
\nperhaps
\nfrom the floor
\nof the Grand Canyon,
\n“It is done.”
