Anna May Wong-
Born in L.A.’s Chinatown, she became Hollywood’s
first Asian star. Though best remembered for
starring in the first Technicolor film (in
1927!) and as Fu Manchu’s daughter (a year
before Myrna Loy!), she was quite popular in
the late 20’s and early 30’s. She was lucky
enough to make the transition to sound and
whenever she wasn’t getting hired in Hollywood,
she found great work in Europe. However, WWII
meant no films anywhere for the Chinese vamp.
After the war, she was set for a comeback, but
her health was failing. After a few more films
and some TV, she died in 1961, at olny 56.

As I’ve been returning emails for the past 4+ hours, I am too burnt to write anything here.
I can barely see straight.
